Times they are a changin

Hello long-neglected blog, it's been a while.  So much has changed since we last got together and I don't even know where to start.

Basically in the last three years I have watched the world I built for myself come crashing down around me.  I am divorced, which is the last thing I ever wanted, yet here I am.  I lost my life as I knew it, my future as I knew it and now I am here on the other side of the country picking up the pieces and trying to figure out where I go next.

It's not all bad news though, I did get back to the west coast and I am working for a company I love, doing something that I always dreamed of doing, but I'll get to that eventually.

This is my first step on my new journey.  I'll explain where I've been as I try to figure out where I'm going.

DAMN YOU STARBUCKS So just when I thought that I was safe from edible temptation, Starbucks releases its Valentine's Day Cupcakes! I innocently walked into the Starbucks across the street from school and just as I walked in a guy asked me if I would like to try a sample. Before I realized what was going on I said "Sure!" I tried the sample, then I realized what it was I was eating... pure heaven in the form of chocolate. Then I realized what I should have seen all along! 100th Post

So I had hoped to make this a momentous occasion, but nothing momentous really popped up, so I am going to talk about something that has really irked me. I have spoken before about how much I love my family, they are the most important people in the world to me. When something is happening with one of them it really gets to me. ESPECIALLY when in indirectly involves me! Here's the deal; I have an Uncle who is an alcoholic. My Dad's side of the family all suffer from certain degrees of alcoholism (with the exception of my Dad who doesn't drink at all) but none as badly as this particular Uncle. He has a habit of getting trashed and ripping a strip off of people and breaking down crying while blaming EVERYONE for his problems, you know typical alcoholic behavior. Anyway with my pending nuptials my Dad called my Uncle to ask him not to drink at my wedding. My Uncle took offense to this request and decided not to attend my wedding. I'm confused...

Oh man I go away for a few days and everything changes! Hallie's blog looks all spiffy and Vegas Princess' blog won't let me read! I must say I was quite saddened by the latter of those two (invite me! I am now addicted... you can't take away my Vegas fix!!!;) ) I am also kind of sad because I am eating some California rolls and they SUCK! Boo French sushi! In other news I just got back from London. It was fun and I got to see Paddigton Bear and Platform 9 3/4. (Yes I am that big of a loser... here's photographic proof) I also saw all the other stuff like Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace, so all in all it was a good, but expensive holiday. I can't believe that two weeks today I will wake up in my own bed! That's right I leave Paris on August 6 th , that's just under two weeks away!
